How is the Menasha Education Fund organized?
The Menasha Education Fund is a nonprofit community organization that operates independently of the Menasha Joint School District, but exclusively serves the students and teachers of these schools. The Fund follows an endowment format and is run by a volunteer board.

Where does funding come from?
The Education Fund was originally established through a bequest from the estate of Henry Jankowski, a Menasha resident and education advocate. Today, the Fund receives tax-exempt donations from individuals, businesses, service clubs, corporations and other foundations throughout Wisconsin.

Who is eligible for Fund grants?
All education foundation giving is awarded to students and teachers within the MJSD.

What types of projects does the Fund support?
Grants through our public education foundation are awarded for three types of projects: Student Scholarships,Teacher Mini-Grants and Penmanship Awards.

Who decides which projects are funded?
The Fund's volunteer Board of Directors representing the Menasha community decides which educational programs and projects receive this public education funding.

You can donate online by completing our simple form or make a donation via U.S. Mail.

Is directed giving an option?
Yes. Your donation can go toward our unrestricted endowment fund or be designated to a specific school or initiative of choice. If you have a certain project in mind, please include the details when making your contribution.

Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. All donations are tax-deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS.

Is the Fund an organization within the Menasha Joint School District?
Although independent of the MJSD, the Menasha Education Fund seeks to work in partnership with, and supplement, the quality education programming of the Board of Education.

How do I apply for grant money?
Simply review the education funding grant criteria. If you are a teacher and your project is a fit, complete our grant application and submit to the Menasha Education Fund by September 15.

What is the maximum amount I can apply for?
There is no maximum dollar limit for grant requests, but typically, the Fund will only grant up to $1,000 per project. Requests beyond this amount will be considered, and if approved, partial funding is often awarded.
